A Look Into My Life

So, I don't have anything in particular to blog about...but, I had a lot of fun pictures so I decided I needed to blog. Mike and I have spent a lot of time over the last few weeks with family and friends. Here are a few of the highlights:

1) I turned 23! Wow...I'm getting old. My co-workers decorated my cubicle with BYU logos and pictures. Take note of the pictures of Mike they even put around the cubicle. It was a lot of fun! 2) Mike surprised me for my b-day with free tickets and hotel room (thanks gordon :) ) to the 1st round of the NCAA tourney in Anaheim. Although BYU would've made for a good present, it still was a fun trip.

Below is a picture of Mike and mini golfing at Camelot. Mike and his dad tied with a 49 and I came in a close second with 55. One day I'll beat Mike....3) With my birthday money I decided to buy a couple of fun items for myself. I got a new purse and some sunglasses. I didn't get these...but I HAD to try them on, I'm sure you understand. haha.
4) Fun with friends. Over the past few weeks we've seen a bunch of friends. Here are a few pics of one trip to the Original Pancake House of OPH as Mike calls it. Austin was being disruptive so the waitress thought of the idea of giving us little wax strings to play with...I think they are meant for children under 7...but who cares!

Here are a few of our creatiions (take note of the tall spaceship-like looking creation Austin made coming OUT of the salt and pepper shaker):

5) Carpet! Our house is officially carpeted. It is so soft and cozy. I love it. It is a little shaggy and has brown, tan, white mixture. 2 weeks until we move! Yikes.

That's all!
Random post, I know.

Aqua Globes?

Note: If you like Aqua Globes, this post could be a little controversial.

Okay, I don't know if any of you have seen the infomercial on Aqua Globes, but I think it's absolutely hysterical.

The infomercial goes a little something like this:
tired of having to water your plants? Sick of water spilling or plants dying? Worry no more! (I then sit there thinking...YEAH...I'm so excited, what could be the solution to this terrible problem?) The aqua globe (then the camera shows a close up of a very odd obtrusive globe thing being inserted into the soil). The aqua globe is the solution to all your problems...simply insert it into the soil and it'll water your plants for up to 2 weeks! (what they conveniently forgot to add what that you will ALSO be the permanent laughing stock for anyone and everyone who enters your house...bc the aqua globe is the most ridiculous looking thing ever!)

Background on aqua globe: (provided by website)
Aqua Globes™ are an attractive solution for automatic houseplant watering. Fill he hand blown stained glass globes as the plant needs it. Aqua Globes™ are a great alternative to the daily chore of watering plants and an excellent choice for automatic watering while on vacation.

•Automatically waters houseplants for up to 2 weeks
• For indoor and outdoor potted plants
• Hand-blown glass designs adds beauty to your plants
• Includes gift boxes for sharing with friends & family

*these bullets were provided on the buyaquaglobe.com...I personally will NOT be needing gift boxes as I will NOT be sharing these with friends and family. haha.

Who HONESTLY is going to use one of the huge things? Wouldn't you think that you'd want to create something small and inconspicuous? When they show the commercial...they insert this GIANT weird looking globe into the soil of a plant that is about 6 inches tall. The globe takes up more room than the plant!

If using an aqua globe is what it takes to have a plant and keep it alive...then count me out! I guess this is why I don't have live plants in my house. The globe is more visually distracting than anything. Isn't the point of a plant to provide beautiful, eye catching nature? With the aqua globe...all you see is a large globe that frighteningly resembles one of those booger suckers you use on babies. Seriously. Look at the picture!

You can get 4 for $14.99! What a deal. If you buy now...they might even through in a REAL booger sucker thing! I don't think you could pay me to put one of those in my plants...

Birthday Fun in the Office

So, I don't know how people celebrate birthdays in your office...but in mine, they go ALL OUT. Since I've worked at Leavitt Insurance Agency, I have seen cubicles decorated in a Walmart theme, pink theme, Mexican theme, pirate theme, princess theme...and many other fun ideas. Sometimes, we even all join together to put on something during the day. Just a couple weeks ago, we put on a "funeral" for our friend who was turning 40 where everyone wore black and we actually held a service for him with eulogy and all.

Today was an exceptionally fun birthday day. Ken, an Account Executive, was turning 37...so his coworkers planned for us to do a MOVIE theme for this birthday. A bunch of us dressed up like movie characters and when he came into the office we had him walk down the red carpet to his cubicle decorated in movie stuff. He then had to guess which characters we were and from what movie. It was a fun day! We even got our star, Ken, to autograph pictures of himself for all of us to keep.

Here are pictures of a bunch of us dressed up...who do you think did the best job...?...the worst...?

I'm Sandy from Grease (YES, that is a "pink ladies" jacket that I'm wearing!)

Lenzi is Leah from Star Wars

Ryan is the kid from Holes

Roxann is Sandra Bullock from Miss Congeniality

Angela L is Keira Knightly from Pirates

Amber is the good Sandy from Grease

Michele is Indiana from Indiana Jones

JoAnn is from The Natural

Kerri is Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman

Stephanie is Trinity from The Matrix!

Welcome Baby Aaron!

My wonderful sister Hannah gave birth to a darling little baby boy on Wednesday of this week. We are SO excited for this addition to the family. I haven't met him, but I already love him. His name is Aaron Joseph Mautz and he weighed 7 lbs 15 oz. My sister is superwoman for all she had to go through to bring this baby to the world. Go Hannah!

I love you!

Welcome to the neighborhood...almost

(our garage door will be painted chocolate brown...it won't be left white)

So, life is pretty normal...except for our upcoming move to our house (April 3rd or 4th). I know you are probably sick of seeing pictures and hearing about it, but well, it's all that's really going on in my life.

First of all, I would like to start off with Mike's ward basketball debut last night. Along with moving homes, we will be moving wards. His friend told him that he was playing Mike's and my future ward...so Mike decided to show up. I decided to come and watch since I "wasn't allowed to watch American Idol at home without him". Mike had about 50 of the teams 77 points...although I don't know the exact number of points since I lost track after about 10 threes. It was pretty funny to watch.

Welcome to the ward! haha.

We also found out that there are 12 mormon families in our new neighborhood. Apparently we are moving to mormon central. haha. I'm excited about it.

Here are some pictures of the house now. The granite was just put in yesterday and they will start the flooring on Friday. We love our house and are excited about the new ward.

Here are our beautiful cabinets. Yes, that is a wine rack you see on the right. Mike loved the way it looked and had to have one. We will have many bottles of sparkling cider on hand :) Picture of our plate rack and pretty crown molding on the top of the cabinets.

Picture of our loft upstairsPicture of our future master bath. It has 2 sinks...yes!
