Baby's First Steps

Today Colton took his first steps out into the world. By first steps, of course we mean being carried by Daddy in the Baby Bjorn. Apparently Colton was a little overwhelmed by the world because while he was wide awake when we exited the house, after 3 steps he closed his eyes and went to sleep. I guess it is a little much to take in. While sleeping, however, he DID make sure to hold on to the straps for DEAR life (as you can see in the picture).

Here are a few more pictures of Colton. Yes, I am aware he still looks kinda yellow. That's because he jaundice is still not totally gone, however it isn't at a level which is harmful.
He loves taking a couple bottles from daddy during the day.

Doesn't it look like he knows something that we don't?

Mike won a basketball tournament and Colton thought it'd be fun to wear his medal

Colton just looking cute.

OH, I miss him! (And all of you.) Colton is not only cute and snuggly, but has so much personality in each expression. Looks like Mike is acquiring lots of good parenting skills! You are wonderful, and I thank you for the beautiful pictures of our precious boy.

I love how you've been able to get so many pictures of him wide awake! He looks like he is just taking in the world! That is so precious how he was holding onto the straps--don't you just love those little hands? Keep the pictures coming--you're doing a great job! We love him!

He is so cute! I love the pictures! When my kids were babies I used to take them for walks when they didn't want to sleep.

Great pictures! I love how when his eyes are open now, it actually looks like he's seeing the world. When babies are so new, they open their eyes, but it doesn't really seem like they are processing what they see.
The Bjorn picture is my favorite. Did it take you about ten minutes to get Colton into the Bjorn for the first time? Believe it or not, you will get really quick with it soon!

What a cutie! Whenever I put Schaeffer in our little carrier he is out like a light almost instantly too. I guess that means they are comfy in there so that's good.

Oh my dear little Colton! I want to meet him. I love the baby bjorn shot, and echo Becca in that it does get easier to get them in there :). I also liked your "yellow warning": it reminds me of what I was doing a year ago! "Yes, yes, I know he's yellow." Yellow or not, he is DARLING and HANDSOME as ever! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that you look beautiful too! Don't you love the incredible shrinking tummy??

He is such a doll! When are you taking him on his first road trip to Utah? Can't wait to meet him!!!

Those are great shots...man he is looking more and more like a mini-Mike...what a cute little guy.

You know, BYU is 0-0 in the NCAA Tourney during Colton's entire life. Maybe they will win tomorrow and all he will know from this point on is BYU tourney success and we can tell him stories about how they used to lose in the 1st round before he was born ;).
