Good idea

Last night during our nightly prayers it was Mike's turn. In his prayer, Mike asked for us to "rest...in peace". RIP. Really? He then added "uhh...but not that rest in peace." haha thanks for clarifying.

Nice idea, Mike. But "rest in peace" sounds a little creepy to me. I think you should just stick with the standard "have a good night sleep."

These Days

These days, Colton's favorite thing is his THUMB.

I can find Colton...sucking his thumb to help him fall asleep, go back to sleep, wake up from sleep, comfort himself and entertain himself.

It's his BEST discovery yet. What is it that is so dang cute about a baby sucking their thumb? I will definitely encourage this habit.

One of those.

Folks. We are one of those parents now. The ones that makes their kids look like complete dorks when in the sun. This weekend when we took Colton to the pool, he was wearing a rash guard, hat, bathing suit that went down to his ankles, and bath towel robe to cover his arms. I guess that's what happens when you have WHITE parents and you aren't allowed to wear sunscreen.
------------------------
He looked ridiculous...LY AWESOME! (I only got pics of him just in the hat and rash guard)

He is wearing a size 12 month shirt. Yeah for BIG babies.

HOORAY!

Yeah, I'm so proud of my little Colton. For 2 nights in a row (and 3 times this week) he has slept through the night from 7 pm until around 5 something am. Since mommy wasn't quite ready to get up at 5... I fed him, put him back in his crib, and went back to sleep until 7:45 when he woke up. He just played in his crib until (I'm guessing) he fell asleep.

Yesss.....keep it up Colton!

I guess there is an advantage to having a fat baby. They can sleep thru the night ealier. haha.

Coming soon: Picture of Colton swimming at the pool (the real pool). Chub, hat, swim shirt, belly, cutness and all.

How many steps does it take?

How many steps does it take for a mom to buy a 3 ft kiddie pool, when traveling with a 2 1/2 month baby? Let me tell you!

Step 1: Load Colton into car (all 16 lbs of him)
Step 2: Drive to Smiths, and drive by the outside of the store to make sure said kiddie pool is still available
Step 3: Park car
Step 4: Take Colton and carseat out of car
Step 5: Find shopping cart FAST before my arm loses circulation
Step 6: Walk up to kiddie pools, realize that it will NOT fit in your shopping cart with carseat
Step 7: Wait thru line, and ask to purchase the pool that isn't in my shopping cart
Step 8: Wheel cart with carseat and Colton back to my car
Step 9: Load Colton in car (it's 100 degrees) and remember to UNlock the trunk which can only be unlocked with keys so I don't have to turn off the car when picking up the pool
Step 10: RUN to return shopping cart so child doesn't overheat...cart return is too far...so LEAVE cart in the middle of a spot (I have NEVER done that before)
Step 11: Drive around the entire parking lot so car is perfectly positioned on the correct side of the rode while driving by the front of Smiths
Step 12: Jump out of car, load kiddie pool...and take off with baby screaming

We are the PROUD new owners of a 3 ft kiddie pool. I hope it is worth the effort. Maybe I just should have waited for Mike to get home...

talk about...

...HANDSOME! Right?

There is something fun about dressing up your baby in adult looking clothes. I feel like he is a little man!
On another note, I'm tired of the same Colton awake routine of reading the same 3 books, playing with the same 2 toys, and bouncing on an exercise ball. ANY IDEAS of other activities I can do with a baby?

Remember...

...when the Dr. predicted me having HUGE baby, and then he was only 7 lbs 13 oz? Well, just 2 months later, I present to you...my HUGE baby (just 2 months delayed).

4...and counting

Today is our 4 year anniversary, how time flies. We met freshman year at BYU. He was the cool, popular bball player and I was a school-obsessed nerd with a tan. haha. We instantly hit it off and had a blast together. A year and a half later we were married on 05/05/05. I'm pretty sure we are a perfect match. (although my tan has since disappeared)

The quick story of how we met...

I came to BYU 2003
We met thru a series of pranks that involved Mike and boys stealing a pink flamingo from our dorm room (picture below is the night the guys tried to pull off the prank but miserably failed) THIS is our first picture taken together ever. I didn't even know Mike!We started liking each other at a Halloween dance (I went as Tough. Don't ask. I had a "T" for tough taped on my shirt and called it good) I mean...hello...of course he fell in love with me. It's a pretty irresistible costume.
We started dating soon after. Mike was my hoodlum basketball player :)
We dated 1 1/2 years...
...and were married May 5, 2005. And 4 years later...here we are! Life is a blast with Mike. I'm excited for our many years to come! I love you Mike.
