Presenting...

My FINISHED headboard
totally and completely made by me (and Mike)

This headboard is a copycat of a Pottery Barn headboard that goes for $800. This cost me $90. I got the plans on this blog. The girl who produces the furniture designs is amazing.

My whole room now feels like a cool hotel retreat somewhere in the mountains. I LOVE IT.

I wish I had a better camera, but these pictures will have to do. Rustic. Distressed. Modern. Beautiful. Feel free to gush :)

I love it!!! You have to show me how. I can't wait to see it in real life! I love the stain you chose.

(happy to hear there were no major nail gun accidents!)

You did a great job! I have to laugh though because last week when it was garbage day we got a knock on the door from a angry garbage worker saying that our can of furniture stain just exploded all over him. HE HAD IT EVERYWHERE!!! He then proceeded to scold me for not having my garbage in a trash bag. I kept telling him that I did NOT have or use any furniture stain, but he didn't believe me. I asked him if it could have been from a previous neighbors garbage and he finally agreed with me that it could have been an accident and not my fault. I guess what happened what the can got stuck in the compressor of the truck and when when they squeezed the compactor to put our garbage in the can exploded. It may not have been your can, but after seeing your beautiful headboard it just may have been. LOL

Love it, love it. Love how it fits right there between your windows, love the stain, and love the new pictures on the wall. Can't wait to see it in person. You and Heidi are both amazing!

Bethany, that is hysterical. I still have my stain, so it wasn't ours either. Very funny story though.

Wow, that looks amazing! I'm super impressed. I would have never known that it wasn't purchased. Normally some homemade stuff has a weird "something isn't right about this" vibe, but this definitely does not have that vibe. Way to go.
