Colton turned 6 months this week. Time is a funny thing. Especially in the world of babies. Time seems to tick on minute by minute and day by day so slowly at first..."I'll never sleep more than 1 hour at a time" "my baby is never going to learn how to smile" "he'll always need me to bounce him on the exercise ball to fall asleep". But then, looking back it all seems like it went by so fast. In just 6 months my child grew 6 inches, gained nearly 13 lbs and is almost (I know he's a little behind) rolling and sitting up.
I look at these pictures below and remember the emotions I was going through at this time. The nurses placed him in my arms and we just stared at each other. I was so scared. Colton was darling, but such a little stranger to me. Now 6 months later, he is a whole little person complete with a personality, likes and dislikes, favorite toys, rolly arms and legs, and our little buddy.
I'll keep kissing these cheeks as much as I can, because apparently one day Colton will grow up and won't let me. I don't believe it though.
What great adventures lie ahead in the next 6 months?...rolling...crawling...walking...talking. We have a lot of learning to do!

One week.

It's been one week since my child has gone #2. Poor kid.

Like I've said, eating solids is WAY overrated. I know...gross post. But, I'm concerned.

AND tomorrow he gets his 6 month shots.

(view from the front yard)

A couple weeks ago we went to Michigan and stayed at my brother-in-law's lake house on lake Hamlin with my family. Life doesn't get much better than this. Nothing is better than no cell phone reception, 70 degree weather, water skiing/wake boarding runs, sand dune jumping, tubing, pool noodle wars, family, golf, sunsets and food...the epitome of relaxation. Paradise.

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

First laugh

Yesterday Mike found a noise that made Colton laugh, it was his first belly laugh ever. AND we happened to catch it on video! He's a little slumpy sitting on the couch, but who cares because his laugh is one of the best sounds I've ever heard. Enjoy! Hope it makes you smile.

What do you get

...when you mix:

1 baby that likes to eat
with 1 rubber spoon
and 1 can of carrots?

A MESS (and slightly orange-dyed baby)! Eating real food is overrated. I think I'll just go back to feeding him only milk.
*Seriously though, carrot juice inside ALL of those little rolls makes for one messy baby Upcoming: Pictures from our Lake Michigan trip!
