Reason #4 Why I Want Colton to Walk

This kid gets dirty. I mean REALLY dirty. Vegas ground is very gross since there isn't much rain, and within a few crawls outside...Colton looks like this. You don't even want to see the BOTTOM of his feet after using his walker outside. (love those chubby knees and cankles)
I'm pretty sure his knees are permanently blackened. Hey, at least it gives him a little tanner skin tone :) So, Colton gets a lot of baths these days. (great big white belly, isn't it?)

And just because Colton looks is a picture of him in his pool attire.

Side note: It is surprsingly difficult to find sunhats...especially sunhats to fit my child's head which is probably the size of a 3 yr olds :) This one will do.

Growing up

Colton is getting so old! He learns new words all the time and just babbles and babbles. Right now his favorite words are dog, basketball, touchdown, ball, cheese, shoes, dada, and baba. Watch the below video to see Colton demonstrate his speaking skills.

Colton also is finally showing some interest in walking. He's 15 months old and it's going to be getting super hot outside soon, so I really hope he gets the hang of it soon. I'd been trying to get him to use his walker for the past 2 months with no success and resulting in a screaming baby, but this week Colton decided on his own terms he was going to give it a try. And OH how he loves it!

This is such a fun stage, I love it. Love this boy (even his new little tantrums).

My FINISHED headboard
totally and completely made by me (and Mike)

This headboard is a copycat of a Pottery Barn headboard that goes for $800. This cost me $90. I got the plans on this blog. The girl who produces the furniture designs is amazing.

My whole room now feels like a cool hotel retreat somewhere in the mountains. I LOVE IT.

I wish I had a better camera, but these pictures will have to do. Rustic. Distressed. Modern. Beautiful. Feel free to gush :)

Get excited.

I just MAY have pictures to post in the next day or so of a headboard I made for my bed. By "made" I mean, bought the wood at Home Depot, cut it, built it, sanded it, stained it, and sealed it. I am feeling pretty accomplished. Now if the smell will just go away so I can put it up in my room!

Thanks to Heidi for the idea and for the step by step instructions.

05/05/05...coolest wedding date ever right? I agree. This year on 05/05 Mike and I celebrate our 5 year anniversary. That's kinda a big deal.

First ever picture of Angela and Mike (Oct 2003): Who would've thought when I randomly took this picture outside Helaman Halls at BYU with this random guy (that I only knew as "the basketball player")...that'd we'd end up married! To celebrate the big FIVE Mike and I took a day away at a nearby hotel Red Rock and left Colton at our friends house, the Bellows (thank you, thank you, thank you).We started the evening with some Cheesecake Factory...mmmm...Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple cheesecake is the best! We then went shopping and finished off the evening with a movie.

Can you find us in these pictures? hah.

Friday morning I woke up, and asked Mike what time it was... "6:50 am". We are used to waking up at 6:15 these days with Colton, so you better believe we closed all the room darkening curtains and just kept sleeping until 9 something. Man, it feels good to sleep in. We finished up the morning with the BEST buffet breakfast and then went and picked up the little man. A perfect 18 hour getaway.

Thank you Mike for a wonderful 5 years. I sure lucked out marrying you. We make the perfect match and have way too much fun for being an old married couple. Love you!
